Preparing for your private class:

The private lessons are entirely designed and tailored to your needs, so you have 100% control of the content in the session. So it makes sense to prepare a bit or let me know in advance what your needs and wishes are for the session.

In order to maximize the learning process I recommend sending me one of your Ableton projects prior the lesson so that we look over it and work on your material together, hands on. Alternatively you can also send me finished or rendered songs or any material you'd like to work on or simply get feedback for during our session, but best is always one of your Ableton LIVE Projects!

Nothing is mandatory of course - we can structure the private lesson however your´d like to, without you having to send send music. We can simply talk about any topic of your choice, may it be about music gear, software or any questions you may have. We can explore synthesis in my studio without one of your projects at hand - I can of course also make examples on my own projects and in my studio - however experience has shown that working directly on the clients material has proven to be most effective for the learning process.

Please follow this step-by-step procedure to prepare your Ableton Live project:

1. freeze, or even better re-record / resample the tracks containing VST plugins other than internal Ableton, UAD, Waves, Fabfilter, Eventide, valhalla, Soundtoys or Plugin Alliance and place the re-recorded track right below the original track with the third party VST/AU. I have many of the above mentioned Plugins and can run most of them but there are obviously thousands more I can not all have at my disposal....

2. make 100% sure to Collect All and Save your Ableton Project!

3. Create a .zip or .rar file of the whole Ableton project folder including its sub-folders like ‚Ableton Project Info’, ‘Backup’ and ‘Samples‘.

4. Upload the .zip containing the whole project folder (not just the Ableton project itself!) to my server (Dropbox) via the link on the left.

Feel free to get in touch prior the session about anything you'd like to discuss, work on or explore. I am looking forward to working with you!

Preparing for your hybrid or MIxing & Engineering Service:

The Hybrid and Mixing, Engineering service is directly designed to make an existing piece of music sound better. The emphasis is not necessarily on learning, but rather on improving the sound of your music. However similarly as with the Private Sessions i need to have access to every sound within your track so it is important to prepare equally as well.

Please do not remove your engineering plugins such as compressors, EQs, Transient Designers or other from your project. I prefer having your preliminary engineering in the project as a starting point and to get an idea what you are trying to express and say with your song. I can still correct, delete or replace your plugins with either my hardware or software.
